Minimising our environmental impact through management of our energy, water and waste.

Energy Efficiency

Peerless is largely a manufacturing based organisation with extensive refining, processing and packing operations. The key environmental impacts stem from the management of energy use, emissions to air, water usage and waste generation.

Peerless actively collaborates with its stakeholders, including customers, regulators, consultants, technical staff and contractors, to drive continuous improvement across its operations.

In addition, our investment in heat recovery equipment has reduced our carbon emissions and extended the lifespan of our infrastructure. Over the years, we have also implemented regular monitoring and maintenance programs to detect leaks in compressed air, water, and steam systems.

Process Innovation

We work collaboratively with technology providers to optimise our equipment, and to trial and explore new technologies to further reduce our carbon footprint.

Optimising manufacturing processes is a critical to our sustainability strategy, enabling us to reduce our environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency. This involves streamlining production workflows, adopting energy-efficient technologies, and minimising resource consumption across our facilities.

Lean Manufacturing

Our experienced and dedicated sales and planning teams use forecasting tools to accurately predict product demand and supply requirements. By aligning closely with our customers and manufacturing teams, we aim to ensure that production volumes match market requirements and manufacture only the required stock. This targeted approach significantly reduces product wastage and minimises the need for excess storage space.

Additionally, by limiting overproduction, we reduce the energy required for refrigeration and climate control, contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
